There are some Pakistani dramas like Shanakhat, Fasiq and Aye Musht e Khaak which tried to show the path of God and spirituality, but we have selected the best series among them. The synopsis can have a few spoilers but still, you cannot miss these dramas on spirituality.

1: Alif (2019):

The drama is about a man Qalb-e-Momin (Hamza Ali Abbasi) who is a filmmaker and has a materialistic approach to life. He thinks with money you can achieve everything including peace of mind. He often has a conversation with his grandfather who tries to make him understand that without love and belief in God, you cannot get peace. Momin meets a woman Momina (Sajla Aly) who has an opposite stance on life. In the beginning, they have lots of conflicts and misunderstandings.

With the passage of time, they clear their misunderstandings and feel that no one can understand them better than each other. Momin also starts understanding that life is not about materialism or partying and his life was meaningless until now.

Momin has also a sad past where her mother was an actress who left her career for the love of her life (Momin’s father) and turned to Allah. However, Momin’s father eventually left her and made allegations against her. The past story is revealed from time to time. 2) Alif Allah Aur Insaan (2017):

The story is about a decent landlord Shahzeb and an ill-mannered egoistic girl Nazneen. Shahzeb fell in love with Nazneen who also belongs to a rich family. Nazneen thinks she has everything in her life and is proud of her beauty. She belittles and insults a transgender at a wedding who curses her. A worker of her father Basit attracts her who is a poor person working day to day to meet his expenses. He does not reciprocate her feelings as he knows he can also be killed if someone finds out about it.

Shehzab is also cursed by a dancer Nigar who fell in love with him because of his good character. He insults her and in return Nigar curses him that his heart will also be broken by someone. Shehzab is in madly love with Nanzeen who does not even look at him. Shehzab succeeds in doing an engagement with Nazneen who does not care for him and this breaks his heart many times.

He takes care of her and fulfils her every wish but she does not care. This makes him question his existence and he starts meeting with a religious clerk and trying to figure out about love. The clerk helps him to understand between the temporary love and the love of God. This is one of the famous and most appreciated Pakistani dramas on God.

3) Kashf (2020):

This is one of the best Pakistani dramas on spirituality about a girl Kashf (Hira Mani) who has nightmares that eventually turn into reality in one way or another. Her father and grandmother start using her to grab money from innocent people. Although her dreams turn into reality, she does not want to make it a profession. Her father compels her to do so and even rejects many marriage proposals so that she will not get married. Somehow, Wajdan (Junaid Khan) and Kashf get married but Kashf evil family members do not want her to settle down in peace.

They make a plan to bring her back as their business of looting people is failing. Kashf is trapped in her evil family as she is a kind person at heart and wants everything good for her family. Her family’s only purpose is to be rich more and more by using Kashf. This also spoils Kashf relationship with Wajdan who wants to see her strong. The drama shows that there are few people who actually have a deep connection with spirituality, there are lots of other people who are liars and use religion to serve their agendas. 4: Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan (2009-2010):

This is one of the most popular Pakistani dramas on God and religion that highlights how people adopt the religious outlook just to look pious. They try to belittle others and prove themselves religious and that only they are going to heaven. They humiliate people by using religion. However, they are the biggest liars and when the time comes they can even use religion to prove themselves innocent. The story is about a girl Saba who is wretched and her life is destroyed because her mother in law makes a false claim to prove herself a bad character woman.

Saba’s mother in law pretends that she is a very religious and pious person but she makes a trap where she proves Saba a characterless woman. She also puts her hand on the Quran (which is considered very sacred) to prove her claim and everyone believes her including Saba’s husband. She is beaten and thrown out of the house. Her whole life is destroyed. However, the drama also shows that if someone uses religion and does bad deeds, ultimately sooner or later, they have to face the wrath of Allah.

5) Main Abdul Qadir Hoon (2010-2011):

This is one of the Pakistani dramas on Spirituality about a young boy Abdul Qadir who is an innocent rich boy. He is neglected by his family and befriends a spoiled girl Zareen. Zareen loves partying, and clubbing and has drinking habits. Abdul Qadir develops feelings for her and starts ruining his life too. After Zareen leaves him, he is dejected and his mother sends him to England. He is unable to leave his old habits and even intermingles with bad company. He keeps a Christian woman Nell as his housekeeper.

One day, when he is drunk, he tries to misbehave with Nell and she begs him in the name of his God (Allah). This is the turning point in Abdul Qadir’s life. He is shocked and afraid of Allah and changes himself day by day. He turns into a practising Muslim. After returning to Pakistan, his mother is shocked to see him in a beard and asks him to change himself. This breaks his heart but he clears he is not leaving his religious beliefs. Abdul Qadir mother uses his old love interest Zareen but soon he finds out this is all planned.

However, in the end, his mother accepts his new life with her heart and Zareen also falls in love with Abdul Qadir. Finally, Abdul Qadir not only gets the right track in his life but also the love of his life. This is one of the most famous Pakistani dramas about spirituality.

6) Khuda Aur Mohabbat (season 1) (2011):

It is one of those dramas that you cannot miss. The story is about a rich guy Hammad whose family is always busy partying and belittling poor people. In the beginning, Hammad (Imran Abbas) is also a playful boy until he meets Imaan (Sadia Khan). Imaan is a daughter of a poor religious clerk. Imaan is a practising religious Muslim girl who observes parda/veil and avoids men.

The character of Imaan impresses Hammad so much that he wants to marry her. Hammad’s family not only opposes this but also humiliates Imaan’s father. Hammad requests Imaan’s father many times but every time he rejects the proposal. The other reason is he thinks if he is ready to do this marriage, he and his daughter’s character will be tarnished. This breaks Hammad’s heart and he loses interest in the worldly affair.

In the beginning, he only starts praying to impress Imaan’s father but gradually he is in love with God. Imaan on the other hand also starts liking him. However, she keeps it in her heart so that God or her father will not be angry with her. The love and the pain are so unbearable and heartbreaking in the drama. The story is really impressive but there are some flaws in the acting of some characters. Overall, it is a beautiful story to watch.

7) Shehr e Zaat (2012):

Shehr e Zaat is one of the best Pakistani dramas on spirituality. It brings you close to God and shapes your personality. This Pakistani drama is about a girl Falak who is beautiful and talented. She is considered beautiful by everyone until she meets Salman at a party. Before that, she made a sculpture of a man who is in his heart and mind. Later when she meets Salman, he turns out the same as her dream man. Salman does not seem interested in her and this surprises Falak.

With every passing day, Falak falls in love with Salman and they start dating. However, even on small matters, Salman often mistreats her. Things get worse after marriage until the day Falak finds out Salman is having an affair. Salman marries that woman and she is an ordinary-looking woman with no sense. Salman is so in love with her that he clears to Falak he is not going to leave her at any cost and he is crazy about her.

Falak’s pride fell on the ground, she was not a proud girl but she always had the confidence that she was beautiful and no one could reject her. After coping with depression, she finds a way of peace and that is only in the worship of Allah. This calms her soul and gives her peace. She realizes that only love for God can give humans self-respect. This is a beautiful story and you will be left with teary eyes.
