Gaten Matarazzo is currently playing the character of Dustin in Netflix Stranger Things. Stranger Things has become my latest favorite Netflix show. I know three seasons have always been there, however, I have watched it recently and in two, three days I guess. In fact, it is one of the most interesting shows after Teen Wolf that hooked me up. (Normally, one-two seasons are good then I have high expectation and in next seasons they just start spoiling the mood)
Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin is definitely one of my characters in Stranger Things, however, when I watched the cast’ interviews I realized it is indeed a treat to watch them off-screen too.
I came across the YouTube videos of the cast and watched Wired channel video in which they were answering the google most search questions.
I watched the one with Milly, Finn, and Noah and the other one has Gaten Matarazzo and Joe Keerey. I noticed one thing, Gaten is definitely is the most observant and intelligent one of all of these people. I am not talking about their talent, as they all are talented people and have accomplished many things at such a young age. I am talking about how clearly, accurately and maturely they were answering. Even Joe was not so clear or maybe confuse while answering.
I know, these interviews are just for fun, but sometimes it really takes out the real person or at least some traits of them.
While watching the question-answer session of Wired Channel show, I observed the answers of Gaten and then I watched Milly, Finn, and Noah question-answer session and compared these two. (The video is released in 2017). I noticed that Gaten answered almost every question by sharing his knowledge and I am much impressed by his answer.
The way he answered the question that “Is Stranger Thing based on a real story” While Milly, Finn, and Noah could not answer it properly and skipped it in hurry, or they did not take it seriously. Gaten Matarazzo answered it maturely. He shared his knowledge about it that it is based on some real events in one way as it is assumed that some sort of secret agency or scientist works just like in Stranger things. He even answered more accurately than Joe who is older than him.
I guess he is related to his character Dustin who always tries to invent new things and observe things minutely. Just like he invented the radio through they could trace the Russians and saved the world in season 3 of Stranger Things. The makers would have seen this talent in him so they gave him one of the most important roles of Stranger things. I mean if we look at the characters, from all of the four kids, Dustin outshines everyone especially in season 3.
Gaten another interview with Cosmopolitan is also a fun thing to watch. Moreover he almost guessed everything right in the Expensive Taste Test. The way he closely observes all the expensive and cheaper things and then his mostly answers were correct proves that he is not only interested in acting but also an intelligent person.
I mean, I did not know what I was doing when I was 15 or 17 years old, perhaps nothing. Moreover, most people get confused to decide between two things and they can only tell which one they like, but he could tell what is expensive or cheaper. I know one thing can be he is rich because he knows the taste of expensive things but still he is a keen observer.
I like some other characters too in Stranger Things, however offscreen I guess Gaten has become my favorite one.
