Ishq Zahe Naseeb: A Unique content that People could not appreciate well

Starring Zahid Ahmed, Yumna Zaidi and Sonya Hussain, Ishq Zahe Naseeb is one of those Pakistani dramas that tried to depict unique characters and content. However, if you dare to portray uniqueness in some projects that people are not used to, then there are chances that it will not get as much appreciation as it deserves.

The case is not that people did not praise the Ishq Zahe Naseeb, but it was surely underrated. One reason can be that other dramas on-air at that time got more popularity because of their negative publicity. The other reason is that maybe it is hard for people to understand the concept of a bipolar or split personality.

Zahid Ahmed is a well-known actor but people love him because of his courage to do that type of role that can even risk his reputation. However, his courage has given us numerous characters that are no doubt marvellous.

Not only Zahid who dared to perform men and women characters side by side, but it was Yumna Zaidi and Sonya Hussain’s brilliant performances too that made Ishq Zahe Naseeb a masterpiece. Two kinds of voice modulation and changing of expressions that Zahid did as Sameer and Shakira make us believe that the Pakistani Industry definitely has a real gem.

The story was not typical and the performances were not ordinary. A wife did not leave her husband despite the fact that it can cost her life. She understood his condition, and helplessness and stood by her side. She remained loyal to him.

A man who was a businessman, his mother (Shakira) left him in childhood but it later turns out that her real mother tried to stay with him as a maid.

(Shakira was Sameer’s mother and Sameer’s father abused her sexually and later abandon her and tried to kill Sameer. She has no idea that Sammer his her son, and she comes back to take revenge on the man’s son who killed her son but later she realizes that, Sameer is her son and he was not killed by his father.)

However, she could not because of the conspiracies of Sameer’s stepmother. A mother (Shakira) who could not stay by her son’s side but to protect him she came back as a maid.

The closeness with the maid merged with Sameer’s personality which was his mother but he has no idea. The only thing he knew was that she was the only one who stayed by her side when he was alone as a child. The troubled childhood made Sameer a victim of a split personality. With the entry of Gohar into Sameer’s life, things started changing and his heart and mind started fighting for his own existence. In this battle, his wife Gohar helped him.

Yumna Zaida who played the role of Shakira gave us the illusion that maybe Sameer was in love with her. But later it turns out that she was his mother. Sameer’s troubled childhood made him obsessed with Shakira who did not tell him that she is his mother but tried to protect him by serving as a servant. The expressions, and the dialogue delivery make Yumna Zaidi a brilliant actress of current times.

Sonya Hussain portrayed the character of Gohar as a supportive wife who tried to be good to her family and faced the wrath of her foolish ignorant one-sided lover who even tried to throw acid on her. He tried to make her life hell because she did not accept his proposal. The best thing about her character was how she stood by her husband’s side in all difficult situations.

The last episode of Ishq Zahe Naseeb proves how well-executed this project was. It happens many times that makers just ignore the last episode in the sense that they show everything in a hurry and many things incomplete. However, the poetry of the last episode did magic.

Although the stars of Ishq Zahe Naseeb are Yumna and Zahid because of their intense and unique characters. But without the supportive character of Sonya Hussain, this project would not be successful.

The makers stretched Ishq Zahe Naseeb a little bit but I guess it was better to reveal the inner state of the characters. We wish people will demand to see different projects rather than typical Saas/ Bahu (Daughter in -Law miseries) cries so that these types of brilliant works will reach an audience that belongs to other countries. We wish makers would air it again with English subtitles so that people who belong to other countries would have access to it.
